The Emile Henry Flame Tagine in Fig is made from a hugely impressive, high tech ceramic which can withstand direct heat on the hob. This is ideal for Moroccan "Tagine" recipes - braise or sear the meat before adding the lid and then finish the dish either in the oven or on the hob.
The peaked lid allows steam to circulate within the pot, thereby increasing the flavours in the food and retaining moisture.
