Why are Swiss Diamond pans so difficult to get hold of at the moment?

Posting date: 3rd March 2010 09:49

You are right, Swiss Diamond pans ARE hard to find at the moment. The UK importer has stopped bringing in the pans. I believe that this is because the cost price has gone up so much, with all this implies for likely sales.

However, I understand that either Swiss Diamond will supply me direct or a new importer will be set up. I have yet to hear conclusively. Personally, I am a great believer in the Swiss Diamond cookware. I use a Swiss Diamond Frying pan as my kitchen workhorse. I need a hardy pan that can withstand metal utensils as I cook in a rush when I come in from work. I haven't used a better one than my current Swiss Diamond. I don't think the surface is as non stick as the manufacturer suggests: it does cook better with some oil. For scrambled egg etc, therefore, I use a Gastrolux saucepan without any fat. But for sheer hardiness of the non stick surface, Swiss Diamond cookware is outstanding.

So in conclusion, I am doing my best to get more Swiss Diamond pans imported into the UK and will keep you posted. In the meantime, we are down to a few last pieces, unfortunately.
