I know I shouldn't put a Gastrolux saucepan in the dishwasher, but can I put a Gastrolux lid in the dishwasher?

The answer is yes, you can put a Gastrolux lid in the dishwasher without being concerned about causing damage. The Gastrolux saucepans are dishwasher safe in that you will not instantly ruin the pan, but many dishwasher powders are very caustic so that over time, the non stick surface of the Gastrolux saucepan will be adversely affected by repeated washing in a dishwasher. I have a Gastrolux saucepan and don't find it a problem to hand wash it with a sponge and hot, soapy water. The cooking surface is so non stick that it is easy to clean. I agree with you - why reduce the life expectancy of the surface of an expensive, really good pan for the sake of a couple of minutes? I put my Gastrolux glass lid straight into the dishwasher without a second thought, however!
