A follow on from posting on Caring for Gastrolux Cookware....

I received a reply from Gastrolux regarding whether or not they agreed with the advice on caring for Gastrolux pans which I posted here on 25/01/2011. As ever they were very quick to respond. The only concern they had was with the "shock" treatment suggested by Active Concepts on the following link:

Gastrolux head office said: "The US Gastrolux agent recommends a shock treatment which we do not recommend for the reason of risk of overheating the pan. I presume that the US Gastrolux agent has positive experience using this old treatment and that's the reason why it's recommended."
I guess, if your pan has so much burnt on food on it that you are about to ditch it, then you might as well try to shock treatment!
