Saucepan Q&A
... your questions answered. A blog by Claire - the Saucepan
Do you have a non stick saucepan with no Teflon?

The answer to this is yes!
Staub pans are cast iron and have a unique enamelled glaze which build up a non stick layer with use. You do not need to season them. The non stick is not as "sliding" as Teflon but it does avoid the use of Teflon.
Gastrolux saucepans use a patented extra strong titanium/ceramic surface called Biotan. The water forms pearls of liquid on the pan surface like water drops on a plant leaf. It is completely Teflon free and such a good non stick surface that no oil is required.
I have one customer who says that her Gastrioux casserole is still non stick despite a stratch and heavy use for 10 years.
