Do you sell the rimless Gastrolux saucepan lids?

Posting date: 11th February 2010 11:53

Gastrolux make 2 different sorts of lids, reinforced glass without a stainless steel rim and reinforced glass with a stainless steel rim.

We used to supply the ones without the stainless steel rims but no longer do as a rule. This is because the glass can chip if bashed, and the stainless steel rim just gives that extra reinforcement at the vulnerable lid edge.

The rimless lids are still available in special order quantities but we would advise against it. Some of customers in the catering trade started with the rimless lids, but in the end have agreed that it is worth spending that bit more for a rimmed version.

The official name for the stainless steel rimmed, is "Gastrolux Deluxe Lids" - please see the trade price list. The rimless are called "Gastrolux Standard Lids".

Please note that there is also a choice of knob on the lids as well. We sell the steam release knobs, but plain knobs are also available, again only for trade customers on special order. The official name for knobs with Gastrolux is "Buttons" - again see the trade price list.
